Thank you for visiting Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. It is always a joy to have visitors to our congregation. If you are interested in learning more about the Roman Catholic Faith, and/or if you are Catholic and would like to become a parishioner, please call the parish office.
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet in Illinois. First and foremost, we exist as a Catholic Parish to offer praise to Almighty God, to grow in holiness through the Word of God and participation in the Sacramental life of the Church, most especially in our reception and worship of the Holy Eucharist, Jesus the Christ. We come together each day to pray for the salvation of our souls and for the whole world.
Our Christian Faith motivates us to action through education, as well as active participation in the work of the Church through service to others. We proudly profess our faith in Jesus Christ as Roman Catholics with more than one billion Catholics worldwide, in union with our Bishop, Bishop Elect Ronald Hicks, and Francis, our Pope.
As members of the Body of Christ, celebrating our presence in Coal City, Illinois since the year 1889, we stand today as part of a rich history ~ a rich Heritage of Faith that is Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish!
Come and join us in praise of God and in fellowship as we live for the Mission of Jesus Christ in His One, True, Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church. Give your heart to Jesus and He will give you Heaven!
A parish is a community of believers and a spiritual family that is supportive and loving. It can be a place to grow spiritually, to put your faith in action, and to use our gifts of time and talent as disciples of Christ. We look forward to answering any questions you may have.
