Why Not Consider the Future?...

Automatically transferring donations

is a safe and easy method of church-giving.

Consistent and generous giving to our usual Sunday Offering is necessary if we are going to be able to meet our ever increasing expenses, improve our programs and facilities, and plan for our future.

As I have said from time to time and especially in my talks on Stewardship, we need a minimum of $6,442 each Sunday to meet our obligations. I would encourage everyone to simply do what they can, to allow the Lord to direct you in your generosity, and make a return to the Lord for all He has done for you.

I would also invite you to consider “electronic/internet giving.” Good Stewardship includes gifts of time, talent, and treasure ~ a response of love to the Lord for His Many Blessings. “Electronic/Internet Giving” is a safe, easy, and consistent way to do your part with your gift of “treasure” to the mission of the Church…it’s good Stewardship. Presently many parishes in the Diocese of Joliet are using this safe and convenient system through their banks.

Instead of writing a check or pulling cash out of your wallet, you can allow a set amount of money to be drafted from your checking account or charged to your credit card on a weekly or monthly basis. This way, even if you are away from the parish for a week or two or in a warm climate during the winter months, the parish can rely on your much needed support.

Of course, there is no push for 100 percent participation…this concept is still in its infancy. But it does provide yet another, convenient, and consistent way for busy people to organize their priorities and finances ~ and help the Church in Her Mission to continue the work of Jesus. By signing up for the program you can direct your donations to the following: Sunday Offering [and/or gifts toward our yearly deficit], Our Lady of Mercy Fund for the Poor, Religious Education tuition payments, Religious Education Endowment to assist parents that can’t pay for their children’s education, and the Parish Building Fund.

If you would like more information, or would like to sign-up for electronic giving, contact Sonia Hertogs [our parish business manager] for details…815-634-4171. Electronic giving is easy! I again thank you for your generosity, your consideration, your dedication, and your commitment to the life of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. May God reward you for your goodness!
